Data Architecture & Platforms

(DEDA-100)

Course overview

Modern organisations depend on data, but without strong data architecture, data becomes fragmented, unreliable, and costly. This one-day introductory course provides a clear foundation in data architecture for business and data professionals - focusing on principles, communication, and practical understanding, without technical jargon.

You'll learn what data architecture really is, why it matters to business outcomes, and how to recognise good architectural thinking in practice. We'll explore the core principles that guide effective architecture and introduce common patterns like data warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses in plain language.

This course is designed to build confidence. By the end of the day, you'll be able to participate meaningfully in architectural discussions, communicate data architecture concepts to different audiences, and understand how architectural decisions connect to business value. Whether you're new to data architecture or looking to strengthen your foundational knowledge, this course will give you the perspective and vocabulary to engage with the topic at the right level.
