Australian-owned expert data consultancy Altis Consulting has expanded into South Australia, responding to strong and growing demand for modern data and AI capabilities across the state.
Altis has appointed experienced digital technologies leader Luke Best as Growth and Partnerships Leader - South Australia, and Best will look to establish a team in the region.
Best brings extensive experience across customer, consultancy, and vendor environments, including leading OZ Minerals’ data modernisation and its integration into BHP.
“Having spent years on the customer side, I understand the real-world pressures organisations face when it comes to modernising data and adopting AI,” Best said.
“One of the things that attracted me to Altis was the genuine partnerships it forms with clients - helping them translate challenges into practical solutions that deliver measurable value,” Best said.
“South Australian organisations want partners who are here with them, who understand the nuances of the local business environment and the unique challenges facing each sector.
“With strong activity across education, defence, medical research, innovation and a thriving start-up scene, Adelaide is a place where trusted, face-to-face relationships matter.
“Being here allows us to build those relationships and help organisations turn their data into meaningful, accessible and actionable insights through genuine collaboration.
“I already have a strong network across South Australia’s energy, resources, government and higher education sectors, and I’m really looking forward to helping more organisations reach their data and AI goals,” Best said.
Altis Chief Commercial Officer Katrina Pilcher said the expansion to South Australia made perfect strategic sense.
“We have experienced considerable momentum across southern Australia this financial year, with 41% year-on-year revenue growth across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia,” Pilcher said. “Expanding our presence in SA is the natural next step - the region is accelerating its investment in modern data and AI capabilities, and organisations are looking for trusted partners who can support that growth.
“South Australia is an incredibly important market because it sits at the crossroads of two significant industries, copper and energy. These sectors are undergoing rapid evolution and the organisations that support them need modern, reliable data capabilities to scale safely.
“Our expansion into SA reflects the opportunity we see to help these industries operate more efficiently and unlock even greater value for the state.”
She said the South Australian economy was performing strongly, with SA recording the fastest job-growth of all the states for the year to June 2025 (up 3.8%). Construction work in South Australia for the March Quarter 2025 was also 16.7% above the decade average - the strongest result in Australia - underscoring SA’s momentum in housing, commercial development and major infrastructure.
“It’s such an exciting time for Altis to expand into South Australia and we look forward to supporting organisations with trusted, locally based expertise,” she said.
